The 5 most common problems of our customers: how do we solve them?

Recently we asked ourselves, what is the most common problem that keeps our customers up at night? We held a discussion and collected the 5 most common IT problems that customers turn to us with almost every day. We want this article to be more than a collection of questions with technical definitions. We have presented our strategy for solving technical problems so that the failure is fixed before your business suffers.

Slow internet, a classic in the IT industry

Attachments download for tens of minutes with no end in sight, audiovisual material stutters when viewed, and the laptop “freezes up.” This is the most common alarm signal that companies come to us with.

What do we do?

  • We start with a speed test to assess whether the link is really slow.

  • If the result deviates from what the customer pays, we analyze whether he uses home or business Internet. And here is an important difference – the former does not guarantee bandwidth.

  • We also check the hardware: router, wireless network, load. Sometimes a free audit is enough to point out what is not working as it should in the network.

The conclusion? Gigabit on paper does not mean gigabit in reality. Fortunately, we know where to look for lost megabits.

Poor Wi-Fi coverage – it works everywhere, but not at my place

This is the second most common IT problem that occurs with laptops, mobile devices or desktops. The network is seemingly there, but it “breaks”. It works in one room and no longer works in another. We come and check and it turns out that…. no one ever designed this network.

How do we operate?

  • We do professional measurements using enterprise-class software (EKH – such AutoCAD for Wi-Fi).

  • We verify where access points should be located. We even take into account storage conditions and sheet steel that can completely stifle the signal.

  • We propose a specific plan: from relocating equipment, to replacing it, to precise reconfiguration.

Well-functioning Wi-Fi doesn’t come by chance. They simply have to be designed well.

Lack of IT support in the company – so who is responsible for all this?

In more than one company, the job of IT specialist is passed from hand to hand. The marketing department knows a little, the HR department a little, but when bigger problems arise, there is no competent person to whom responsibility can be ceded.

Why is it dangerous?

  • No one has access to the domain and passwords. Only when there is a technical problem does the search for the person responsible for this sphere begin.

  • There is a lack of documentation, an emergency envelope and one person to keep it all in check.

  • Because of this chaos, the company is not in control of its infrastructure, and as a result it may record financial losses.

That’s why we help companies organize their IT infrastructure, design processes, and, if necessary, take responsibility as an external helpdesk.

The most common IT problems: lack of backups

It’s a problem that comes up surprisingly often. It seems that everyone does backups these days. Well, no. It also happens that employees do backups, but they do them incorrectly.

What do we come across?

  • For copies that cannot be restored (because no one has tested restoration).

  • For USB drives plugged in once a week and kept next to the server. And then: fire, theft, surge – and everything is lost.

  • For backup servers in employees’ homes. It sounds cursory, but such things happen.

That’s why we’re betting on automatic backups to the cloud, secure, encrypted backups that work no matter what happens physically with the company.

Overloaded servers – a huge concern for IT professionals

Servers live in two states: first they are too big, then too small. When they’re too small, everything slows down, you can’t fire up a new application, resources run out.

What do we offer?

  • Move to the cloud – even partially. Instead of investing £100,000 in a new server, it’s better to fire up a new application in the public cloud.

  • In the cloud, you select exactly the resources you need. You are guaranteed regular updates and the assurance that your files will not be attacked by malware.

Worth knowing!

Hard drive failures, hardware overheating, system errors or seemingly minor monitor malfunctions can have catastrophic consequences! It’s no longer just a matter of downtime, but a real threat to the security of customer data! We are aware of how many threats lurk for our customers, so we offer solutions that have the necessary safeguards to protect against damage to the network infrastructure.

The IT industry can be demanding. Delays in projects and sometimes even wrong decisions due to inexperience can cost a company much more than the monthly cost of outsourcing IT services. There is a shortage of IT professionals on the labor market, so more and more employers are opting for outsourced helpdesk and systems management services.
