Encrypted data network for TUZ

We ended the first quarter at ITH with a successful tender for the operation of an inter-city data transmission network for our client, one of Poland’s largest insurers, the TUZ company. As a whole, the tender is for Internet access links, data transmission links between Data Center facilities and collocation of a backup Data Center.

TUZ invited us to a bidding competition in which the company wanted to build a backup data center in a different city than the primary one – this was TUZ’s first need. Of course, the backup data center must be connected to the primary center by a high-bandwidth link – here transmission channels of more than 10Gbps, with protection, were chosen. An additional requirement of the TUZ was transmission encryption, here our engineers relied on transmission encryption through a method that maintains very high transmission efficiency.

Ultimately, our company became the main telecommunications service provider for TUZ, providing our client:

• Internet access links with protection
• encrypted data transmission link between colocation facilities with a capacity of over 10Gbps
• collocation of a backup data center in the Katowice Data Center facility

For all services, we provide 24/7 engineering technical support for TUZ.

In order to implement services with protection, we used two of our primary access nodes, one in Krakow and the other in Warsaw, where TUZ services are determined, in addition, we took full advantage of the capabilities of the intercity ITH network, firstly for protection and secondly to encrypt traffic through appropriate encryption protocols.

The construction of the ITH network assumes the possibility of failure of any component – without affecting the operation of the network, i.e., we have protected our infrastructure from failures:

• inter-city transmission channels
• local optical fibers
• operation of ITH network access nodes (so-called POPs)
• network devices (routers and switches)
