How do you choose internet for your business? A guide from an ITH expert

Want to find out what type of Internet access best suits your company’s needs? We will try to illuminate this question. We will look at two types of Internet access: symmetrical – ideal for large corporations, and asymmetrical – dedicated to smaller businesses. We hope this will make your decision easier.

Offer for business – internet for your company
Currently, there are two Internet services – fiber optic cable and radio link. Fiber-optic cable is characterized by remarkable resistance to the vagaries of the weather, andthe only thing that can harm it is the cutting of the cable during construction activities or the intentional actions of third parties. Fiber optic cable provides link reliability and connection stability at a level that until recently was unattainable. The radio link, on the other hand, acts as a “backup” link in places where laying two fiber optic cables independently is too challenging. This unlimited internet also works well during the construction of a fiber optic line, providing access to efficient and fast internet.
But before we go any further, let me ask a few additional questions:
Where is your company’s headquarters located?
How many members does your team have?
Do you transfer large amounts of data?
Does your company have dedicated servers?
What happens when you suddenly lose internet access?
As we dive into the world of bandwidth, the Internet shows itself in two faces: as a symmetrical link that shares its resources, and asymmetrical, surprising by its imbalance in transfers. The star in ITH’s offering is the service ITH.net. These are symmetrical connections with assured performance standards – fiber optic connectors designed for business customers.
Did you know that…
With ITH, you have the freedom of choice. You can start with a small, asymmetrical package, and when your needs start to grow – switch to symmetrical fiber internet.

Asymmetrical link
Asymmetric link is nothing more than a SOHO segment, dedicated to micro and small businesses that value simplicity and do not have excessive expectations. The asymmetric link is the ideal solution for companies that have few employees and can afford network interruptions.
If:
You don’t fill the cloud with huge streams of data,
you don’t have servers in the office that open the door to outside users,
You are not using a VPN server,
You don’t use the Internet to do advanced work online,
then an asymmetric link, and sometimes even mobile internet, may be the solution for you.
For large business customers, for whom the Internet is an integral foundation of operations, we offer symmetrical lines.

Symmetrical links
When we talk about symmetric links, such as our flagship ITH.net, we assure you that the SLA stands for quality, and there are really severe penalties in case of failure to meet the terms of the contract. In the event that any parameter is missing, the contract clearly specifies what compensation you are entitled to for the circumstances. For our highest SLA packages, the link is protected.
What is a link with protection?
Imagine a link that works like a double gatekeeper – built from two separate fiber-optic cables that have nothing to do with each other, and on the customer side each is accompanied by its own subscriber device. On the operator’s side, on the other hand, these two cables lead to two distinct nodes, ensuring the reliability and security of the fixed Internet. In the case of an asymmetric link (SOHO), SLA parameters are usually absent.

Secure internet for your business? Don’t choose rashly!
The market offer for business wireless internet is very wide, so many customers find it difficult to choose an internet provider for the company. If you want efficient unlimited internet and a stable connection, you can’t choose blindly. First of all, verify that the chosen provider really has experience in serving business customers in its portfolio.
Unfortunately, operators with B2B experience are scarce. Most companies specialize in serving individual customers. The leading operators have business mobiles and segment their market, but their offerings are consumer-oriented.
ITH is focused exclusively on companies, which is why we understand the needs of the corporate customer so well. We don’t have a traditional customer support office staffed by telephone operators. Our support office, called the NOC, is a real treasure trove of knowledge. It’s a Network Management Center where our talented network engineers provide professional support.

How can we help you?
This is an important point, because many ISPs limit their responsibility only to the outlet in the wall. Whatever is behind that outlet is irrelevant. We want to cooperate on a slightly different basis and be a reliable partner for our customer. We enter his world with full support.
We recently experienced two unusual incidents. On a sunny Sunday, we got a call from a distraught customer whose router refused to work. The power supply of this router had almost turned to ashes! The customer did not have a spare power supply, nor did he have access to mobile Internet. He called, and our technical team instantly pinpointed the fault location. Our engineers, completely on their own, immediately sprang into action – having delved into the inventory, they instantly identified the available equipment, estimated the delivery time to the customer, and took care of the configuration, making sure that everything met the customer’s expectations. As soon as the configuration was completed, our technician promptly shipped it to the customer. Although it was Sunday, a day of rest, customer service resumed. On Monday, our sales team made contact with the customer to arrange all the necessary paperwork for the transaction and billing.
Still not sure which company to choose as your fiber internet provider? We’d love to tell you more stories, but let’s limit ourselves for now to two that most clearly demonstrate the speed of our operations. On another occasion, our client had its own powerful set of network equipment from a reputable, large supplier. The equipment was not working properly, but our engineers, shortly after getting permission from the customer, quickly discovered the source of the fault. The minor malfunction that affected the customer lasted only a few minutes, and with the help of ITH’s talented team of engineers, it was quickly and efficiently repaired.
